The marathon was cold, rainy and windy. In other words it was miserable! I woke up on saturday and I really didn't want to run. I was very close to just staying home but after all the hard work I put into training I had to give it a try. I should have mentally prepared myself to do my best no matter what. I was very happy to have Jamie running with me. I really needed someone to complain to. I couldn't believe how cold I was. The hair on my arms was standing straight up with golf ball size goosebumps. I must have been scrunching my shoulders because a throbbing pain started in between my shoulder blades around mile 20. I really should have pushed myself harder the last three miles. I always fall apart those last three miles. One of these days.. I'll have the mental strength to push myself. The year I truly push myself those last three miles will the day I will be truly satisfied. I learned a few things and am going to change my training a little. It was nice having my brother come and run also. He did awesome. He finished in 3:31. His personal best. Boston Qualified. Jamie and I did it in 3:44. I did push a little the last quarter mile and I passed a couple guys which always feels good but I was depressed at my overall time but also glad it was over. On the positive side I feel less sore than I did last year.

Congratulations on the marathon! Sorry it was so miserable. We were wondering if the rain was going to be a bad thing or a good thing. Have a relaxing day, you deserve it.
