The plaque I recieved for winning 1st place. On Saturday, March 14th. Jamie and I ran the Spectrum 10K. We ran up to the Ivins park then rode a bus up to the start line, which was near the top of Snow Canyon State park. There were about 550 runners. I was just going to run and not worry about getting any particular time. The first mile is all downhill then you turn on to this running trail. With so many runners you want to run fast the first mile so you don't get trapped on the running trail with a lot of other runners. Jamie and I were near the front of the start line and when the gun went off we took off. After the second mile I looked at my watch and saw my average pace and decided I could run four more miles at that pace. It was a great morning for a run. I pushed myself the last mile and passed a couple people at the end which always feels good. I was very happy to realize when I got my time card that I had finished 1st out of 53 women in my age group. This was my personal best. Average pace: 6:59 My time was 43:29. Sorry, if I sound like I'm bragging. I'm not.. just excited. My legs feel very sore today though. Tomorrow's run will be really slow.
After the race we went to Pirate Island pizza. The girls had gotten gift certificates from their teachers for a free personal pizza. I ended up getting spicy chicken penne and Jamie got a steak sandwich. The girls loved playing the games. Jadzia hit the jackpot and won a ton of tickets which made her very happy. She was very nice and shared her tickets with Cassie. Following lunch we decided to go for a hike on the red hill. It so sunny and nice. The perfect day!

Congrats Linda! That's a great time and how cool to take first. I'm sure that will never happen to me. Tell the girls hello for us.
AWESOME! We are so happy for you. Jon says, "SWEET!" Love you guys and can't wait to see you.
Congratulations Linda! That is AWESOME! Looks like you all are doing well and keeping busy! I liked the pictures of Jamie talking with the class about computers. I wish you all were closer, I would have him come to my class. :)
